Why Om is so Powerful?

Om or AUM  is a mystical Sound and a mantra in Sanskrit of  Hindu origin in India.

The syllable is also referred to as omkara  “that which is sounded out loudly”.

Before creation began it was  the emptiness or the void.,meaning literally “no sky”, is more than nothingness, because everything then existed in a latent state of potential.

Hindus believe that as creation began, the divine, all-encompassing consciousness took the form of the first and original vibration manifesting as sound “OM”.

The vibration and Sound of “OM” symbolizes the manifestation of God in form. The mantra “OM” is the name of God, the vibration of the Supreme.

Eben Alexander III (born December, 1953 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is a neurosurgeon and the author of the best-selling Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife, in which he shares his thoughts on his near-death experience and whether science can explain that heaven really does exist. In his book Eben says ” “I will occasionally use Om as the pronoun for God”,”OM” was the sound I remembered hearing associated with that omniscient, omnipotent, and unconditionally loving god”.

OM! This Imperishable Word is the whole of this visible universe.

What has become, what is becoming, what will become – all of this is OM.

And what is beyond these three states of the world of time – that too  is OM.

Health benefit of Singing Om

Om helps you control your mind.

Inner Fear, Anger,Anxiety reduced,High Blood Pressure Reduces,Stress is gone, Person remains calm,Gains Self Control to Stop Smoking and Drinking, Believes in God, Believes In Relationships, Person feels content with life,Will not feel lonely, Regains Hope,Inner Peace,Happiness, and Develope Positive Attitude towards  Life and Future,

What Happens inside when you sing Om?

Om Vibration travels in the form of sound into your body and mind to make you feel the vibration to bring inner peace and happiness.

Om vibration is like meditation. You control your mind from thinking which is meditation. When you meditate you feel the inner peace and happiness. When you are happy inside you are happy out side. When you are happy your health improves and positive attitude develops to succeed in everything you do.

Shri Hanuman Chalisa Song by Prana Kishore – S T Arasu

Shri Hanuman Chalisa Album Notes

Shri Hanuman Chalisa is the only miracle song one needs to listen and learn in life to be successful .Prana Music Compositions brings the atmosphere of the temple inside your home with real sounds of holy river Ganga,Pambha, extinct Birds, Temple Bells from Tirupathi and Varanasi. The Powerful  40 verses lyrics sang so clearly to create maximum impact in your life. Also in the album are other songs, mantras, chants on Shri Hanuman which you can use to solve your life’s problems while you enjoy them.

The real life story goes that Saint Goswami Tulsi Das (1497/1532–1623 CE ) went to meet the then Emperor Aurangzeb in Delhi (India) after having had a darshan or vision of God Sri Rama in Gokula, the birth place of God Sri Krishna. The Emperor challenged Tulsi Das to show Sri Rama to him. When Tulsi Das replied that it is not possible without true devotion to Rama, he was imprisoned by Aurangzeb. In the prison, Tulsi Das  has written the beautiful verses of the Hanuman Chalisa on Sri Hanuman. He composed Hanuman Chalisa when he was very sick. He sang the praise of Sri Hanuman and it is said that he recovered from his illness.

When he completed the Hanuman Chalisa in prison, it is said that an army of monkeys menaced the city of Delhi (India). The king unsuccessfully tried to control the monkeys with his forces. Finally, the Emperor is supposed to have realized that the monkey menace was a manifestation of the wrath of Hanuman, the Monkey God. He released Tulsi Das and urged him to intervene in this grave matter and it is said that the monkeys stopped their mischiefs immediately after Tulsida’s release. Tulsidas is believed to be a reincarnation of Valmiki. In the Hindu scripture Bhavishyottar Purana, the god Shiva tells his wife Parvati how Valmiki, who got a boon from Hanuman to sing the glory of Rama in vernacular language, will incarnate in future in the Kali Yuga (the present and last Yuga  within a cycle of four Yugas). Tulsidas lived permanently and died in the city of Varanasi The Tulsi Ghat in Varnasi is named after him He founded the Sankatmochan Temple dedicated to Hanuman in Varanasi, believed to stand at the place where he had the sight of Hanuman.

Hanuman Chalisa is written by Tulasi Das in the praise of Shri Hanuman in Awadhi Language which is similar to Sanskrit/hindi.The word “chālisā” is derived from “chālis” in Hindi, which means 40, as the Hanuman Chalisa has 40 verses.

Tulsi Das says in the Chalisa that whoever chants it with full devotion to Hanuman, will have Hanuman’s grace. Its very popular belief that chanting the Hanuman Chalisa invokes Hanuman’s divine intervention in life to solve all your problems, this belief is based on the claim made in the Chalisa itself.

Hanuman (also known as Anjaneya and Maruti) is a Hindu deity and an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, a central character in the Sanskrit epic Ramayana. Folk tales increasingly eulogize the powers of Hanuman and he is considered an avatar or reincarnation of Shiva. The qualities of Hanuman, his strength, courage, wisdom, celibacy, devotion to Rama and the many names by which he was known is detailed in Hanuman Chalisa. There are more temples devoted to Hanuman than any other deity in India and recitation of Hanuman Chalisa is one of the common religious practices. Shri Hanuman is understood as great jnani, yogi and a brahmachari (bachelor). He has been blessed as chiranjivi, one who lives eternally. The blessings of Siva, Vishnu, Brahma, Surya, Indra, and Vayu made Shri Hanuman invincible. He is the great lover of music and also mastered the Sanskrit language. Being the Yogacharya, Shri Hanuman is considered as an embodiment of the four yogas. His strength, valour, prowess, will power, memory, balanced emotions, sharp intellect, fearlessness, and noble actions were perfectly refined and grounded in spirituality. None in the world can equal Shri Hanuman. He had only one thought–that of serving his Shri Rama with utmost humility and devotion. He serves, protects and inspires the devotees of Shri Rama. He holds the flag with fish symbols. Shri Hanuman Chalisa praises the selfless service, courage, humble disposition, and foremost devotion shown by Shri Hanuman towards Shri Rama. Shri Hanuman will present Himself with folded hands in prayer wherever and whenever the Holy name of Shri Rama is recited. Shri Hanuman always loves to hear the mantra ‘Shri Rama Jeyam.’ Just chant ‘Shri Ramajeyam’ mantra and pray to Shri Hanuman. Here’s how to sing Hanuman Chalisa:

Its important to understand the story behind the 108 temples.

In India pilgrimage is a tradition in Hinduism by visiting  holly sites with  mythological significance. They visit temples to see  the deity and been seen by the deity as part of worship seeking the blessings from the God. Divya Prabandham is a collection of 4,000 Tamil verses composed in 8th century AD, by 12 Azhwars, The works were collected,by Nathamuni. The verses in  Tamil explain what the Vedas, Upanishads and Vyasa’s Brahmasutras. The works were lost before they were collected and organized in the form  by Nathamuni. These songs are still sung extensively even today.

Divya Prabhandam means devine songs in praise of Narayana (or Vishnu) and his many forms.Namaazhavar sang these songs at 108 sacred shrines known as the Divya Desams (Divine places, Holy Abodes of Vishnu). There are 108 Divya Desams, and of these 105 are located in India and 1in Nepal, the remaining two – Parama padam and Thiruppaarkadal – are in the celestial world.Pl visit Prana Kishore blog one page Hinduism for list of 108 Divya Desams.

The presiding deities in these Divya Desams are found in various Thirukkolams (postures).Kidantha Thirukkolam (Sleeping posture) in 27 Divyadesams.Veetrirundha Thirukkolam (Sitting posture) in 21 Divyadesams.Nindra Thirukkolam (Standing posture) in 60 Divyadesams. In these 108 Divyadesams, Vishnu faces various directions and giving his blessing which are:

East facing Vishnu -79.

West facing Vishnu-19.

North facing Vishnu-3.

South facing Vishnu-7

Back Ground:

The Asura Madhukaitaba seized the Vedas from Lord Brahma and hid himself into the sea. Lord Vishnu took the Matsyavathara fought with the Asura within the sea, killed him and got back the Vedas and restored them to Brahma. It took 5 days for the Lord for this purpose. Without the Vedas, the world became dark, not knowing how to worship the Lord. So Lord Vishnu divided Himself into two, one as Guru or teacher and the other as Sishya or disciple. The guru taught the disciple the methods of worshipping God for five nights. Hence the teaching was called Pancharatra- methods of worshiping the God. Like the Pancharathra Samhitas, there is another kind of Samhitas called the Vaikhanasa Samhithas, methods of worship in Temples. They were taught to Sage Vikasana by MahaVishnu and through him to the Sage’s descendants. There is not much of a difference between the two, except chanting of some different manthras during the worship.

First Divya Desam and most important among 108 Divya Desams is Srirangam,Vaishnava temple in TrichySouth India. The main shrine for Lord Ranganatha and Thayar is Ranganayaki. In Srirangam there is the Dasavathara temple, the only one of its kind enshrining all the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Sriranga Mahathmyam the glittering Sriranga Vimana sprang as a result of the tapas of Brahma in the depths of the Milky Ocean. It was borne by the celestial bird Garuda. Adisesha had spread his hood over it.

Brahma found Lord Vishnu resting on Adisesha, and was informed that He had come as Swayamvyakta – on his own as an idol. He would also appear likewise in seven other places on earth — Srimushnam, Venkatadri, Saligram, Naimisaranya, Thotadri, Pushkar and Badri. Ranga Vimana is the first and the earliest of all these. Brahma carried the Vimana to Satyaloka and installed it on the banks of the river, Viraja. He appointed the Sun God to perform the daily worship. Responding to the prayers of the King of Ayodhya of Iswaku race (Surya Vamsam) Brahma permitted him to take the Vimanam to Ayodhya.

Thus, the Vimanam came to Ayodhya. After Ikshvaku, his descendants continued the service of worshipping the Lord. . Rama, himself an avatara of the Lord in the Ishwaku race, worshipped Ranganatha and thereafter Lord Ranganatha came to be known as “Periya Perumal”. On his triumphant return from Sri Lanka and during his coronation, Rama gave the Vimana as a gift to Sri Vibheeshana for worship.

When Vibheeshana set out for Sri Lanka, He got down on the Kaveri banks to perform his mid-day prayers. He placed the Ranga Vimana at a place known as “Sesha Peetam” (Srirangam) near the Chandrapuskarani. Later when he tried to lift the Vimana, it would not move as it got stuck. When Vibheeshana was overcome with grief, the Lord appeared before him and consoled him saying that He had already decided to make this place His abode and Vibheeshana could come and worship him daily. It is said that even today Vibheeshana worships the Lord daily at midnight.

This temple is enormous in size and is the largest temple complex with 156 acres in extent, surrounded by seven concentric walls (the outermost wall having a perimeter of over 3 kilometers) and 21 gopurams(Towers),39 Pavilions,50 shrines, and ayiram Kaal mandapam (1000 pillars); It has seven Prakarams or Tiru Veedhis running around the sanctum. The total length of these seven walls is 32,592 feet, approximately around 9 Kms. There are magnificent towers in all Prakaras and the latest addition is the 236 feet high thirteen tiered Rajagopuram built at the southern rampart by the late 44th Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt.Pilgrims from all over India visit this shrine, and there are festivals all through the year. Vaikunta Ekadasi during Margazhi and the Tirukalyana festival during Panguni attracts very large crowd

Another famous temple Divya Desam is Thirumala Tirupati Shri Venkateswara Temple

Located on 7 hills in Andhra Pradesh second richest temple in India. Tiruvenkatam Divyadesam constitutes three temples – the hill temple at Tirumala for Srinivasa, the Govindaraja temple at Tirupati and the temple at Tiruchanur, 3 Kms from Tirupati, for Goddess Padmavathi. The moolavar in the hill temple is Srinivasa also called Venkateswara, Balaji, in a standing posture while the utsavar is Kalya Venkateswarar with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. There is no shrine for Thayar in the hill temple. The Tiruchanur temple enshrines Goddess Padmavathi with Utsava Vigraha of Srinivasa

The two huge lamps that are found glowing now in the sanctum are believed to have been lit by Brahma. To worship the deity in this temple Sri Ramanuja climbed the hills on his knees for fear of desecrating the holy hills with his feet. Sri Ramanuja prescribed the elaborate rituals and the mode of worship in this temple, which are being followed even today.

There is festival every day, and several Kalyana Utsavams are being conducted each day. The annual Brahmotsavam is being conducted during the Tamil month Purattasi. The Utsavam is said to have been conducted by Brahma himself and hence gained the name Brahmotsavam. The Brahmotsavam for Thayar at Tiruchanur is being conducted during Karthigai.

These are just 2 stories of the 106 temples, one can imagine the real life stories of all 108 temples of Vishnu as a proof that God exists.

Divya Prabhandam-Divya Desam in Tamil is dedicated to all pilgrims and devotees of Shri Vishnu and his many forms at a time when Shri Vishnu’s blessings are required by one and all in this universe.

Om Namo Narayanaya – .Narayana- Narayana-  Narayana
